The delivery of pre-hospital care in the District of Algoma is informed and supported by the medical direction of a licensed emergency physician with the Sault Area Base Hospital Program.

Dedicated to the pursuit of high quality evidence-based practice, our current Medical Director, Dr. Derek Garniss, provides medical control to the practice of our certified staff.

The Medical Director collaborates with emergency physicians in the Provincial Base Hospital community through a Medical Advisory Committee, seeking their input and feedback on trends, changes and the results of pre-hospital care.
