Paramedic Services<\/h1>\n

Service Profile<\/strong>[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”15px”][vc_column_text]The Algoma District is bordered on the west by the Thunder Bay District at the northern tip of Lake Superior. Our district cradles the north and eastern sides of Lake Superior as well as the north shore of Lake Huron as far as the community of Spanish in the east. The city of Sault Ste. Marie is situated in the very south-west corner of the Algoma District. (While our service covers the areas north and east of Sault Ste. Marie, we are not responsible for the city of Sault Ste. Marie or the unincorporated townships associated with it.)<\/p>\n

Algoma District Paramedic Services is dispatched by the Ministry of Health\u2019s Central Ambulance Communication Centre located in Sault Ste. Marie and our area of responsibility for emergency coverage is approximately 48,000 sq. kms. That is larger than the entire country of Switzerland!<\/p>\n

Although large parts of our district are unpopulated, we typically respond to approximately 6,000 calls for service each year.<\/p>\n

Our service is structured into Western and Eastern Divisions. Each division has four ambulance stations located in four different communities.<\/p>\n

PAD PROGRAM<\/h5>\n
