Program<\/h3>\n<p>Children\u2019s Services provides child care fee subsidy for children to parents and guardians in need of financial assistance who are working, job searching, attending school or training, or have children with special needs.\u00a0 We are committed to ensuring that quality, affordable licensed child care is available to qualifying families of Algoma, to ensure healthy child Program helps qualifying families cover the cost of licensed child care.\u00a0 Quality child care plays a key role in helping children develop the skills they need to be life long learners.\u00a0 It is also an essential support for many parents, helping them to balance the demands of career and family while participating in the workforce or pursuing education or training.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.adsab.on.ca\/en\/social-services\/childrens-services\/childrens-services-apply\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Apply for Child Care Fee Subsidy<\/a>[\/vc_column_text]\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h6 class=\"clearfix mkd-title-holder \">\n<span class=\"mkd-accordion-mark mkd-left-mark\">\n\t\t<span class=\"mkd-accordion-content-inner\">\n\t\t[vc_column_text]In order to qualify, parent(s) or guardians must be working or job searching; attending school or training; receiving Ontario Works benefits while participating in an approved activity; or there must be a social or special need.\u2028\u2028Parent(s) or guardians of a child applying to a licensed child care program, or a \u2018before and after\u2019 school program, may qualify if the child is up to 12 years old, or up to 18 years old if the child has special needs. \u2028\u2028After your application is received eligibility is determined at your intake interview, using a provincially mandated income test, provincial legislation, and municipal guidelines.<\/p>\n<p>Based on eligibility, parents may pay a portion of the daily cost of child care to the child care centre and Children\u2019s Services pays the balance of the daily cost directly to the child care centre.\u00a0\u00a0 \u2028\u2028Eligibility for child care subsidy is based on your \u201cadjusted income\u201d.\u00a0 Adjusted income is the net income which is shown on line 236 of your last year\u2019s Federal Notice of Assessment document for both parents. As a result, parents applying for child care subsidy must provide a copy of:<br \/>\nThe Federal Notice of Assessment and the Universal Child Care Benefit Statement (RC62) (if receiving this benefit) \u2028\u2028OR The Canadian Child Tax Benefit (CCTB) Notice (see below).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.adsab.on.ca\/en\/social-services\/childrens-services\/childrens-services-apply\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Apply for Child Care Fee Subsidy<\/a>[\/vc_column_text]\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h6 class=\"clearfix mkd-title-holder \">\n<span class=\"mkd-accordion-mark mkd-left-mark\">\n\t\t<span class=\"mkd-accordion-mark-icon\">\n\t\t\t<span class=\"icon_plus\"><\/span>\n\t\t\t<span class=\"icon_minus-06\"><\/span>\n\t\t<\/span>\n<\/span>\n<span class=\"mkd-tab-title\">\n\t\t<span class=\"mkd-tab-title-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"mkd-tab-title-main\">The Canadian Child Tax Benefit (CCTB) Notice<\/span>\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n<\/span>\n<\/h6>\n<div class=\"mkd-accordion-content\">\n\t<div class=\"mkd-accordion-content-inner\">\n\t\t[vc_column_text]Persons with a total adjusted income of $20 000.00 or less qualify for a full subsidy. Income amounts are categorized within the three levels listed below. You will never pay more than the actual cost of the child care without subsidy.<\/em>[\/vc_column_text]\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>[vc_empty_space height=&#8221;20px&#8221;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<div class=\"et_pb_column et_pb_column_3_8 et_pb_column_inner et_pb_column_inner_1\">\n<div class=\"et_pb_module et_pb_text et_pb_text_2 et_pb_text_align_left et_pb_bg_layout_light\">\n<div class=\"et_pb_text_inner\">\n<h3>Supporting Children with Special Needs<\/h3>\n<p>The Algoma District Services Administration Board purchases special needs resourcing services from Children\u2019s Rehabilitation Centre Algoma.\u00a0 Services for children with special needs are offered in all licensed child care sites within the Algoma District.\u00a0 Early Childhood Education Resource Consultants, Child Care staff and the family work together for the successful inclusion of every child into the child care program.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"et_pb_module et_pb_text et_pb_text_3 et_pb_text_align_left et_pb_bg_layout_light\">\n<div class=\"et_pb_text_inner\">\n<h3>Quality Assurance<\/h3>\n<p>We are committed to providing high quality early learning and development opportunities for children and families across the Algoma district. Children, families and educators are well supported by a system of responsive, high-quality, accessible, and increasingly integrated early years programs and services that set the foundations for lifelong learning.<\/p>\n<p>Programs value children as competent, capable of complex thinking, curious, and rich in potential.\u00a0 They see families as belonging, valuable contributors to their children\u2019s learning, and deserve to be engaged in a meaningful way.\u00a0 Educators are knowledgeable, caring, reflective and resourceful professionals.\u00a0 They are valuable contributors engaged in meaningful work.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"et_pb_column et_pb_column_3_8 et_pb_column_inner et_pb_column_inner_2 et-last-child\">\n<div class=\"et_pb_with_border et_pb_module et_pb_text et_pb_text_4 et_pb_text_align_left et_pb_bg_layout_light\">\n<div class=\"et_pb_text_inner\">\n<h3><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>EarlyON Child and Family Centres<\/h3>\n<p>All existing child and family programs funded by the Ministry of Education have been combined into one program model, and services will be provided through EarlyON Child and Family Centres.<\/p>\n<p>The goal is to enhance the quality and consistency of child and family programs across Ontario for parents, caregivers and young children ages 0-6 to ensure that:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Expecting parents, parents, caregivers and home child care providers have access to high quality services that support them in their role;<\/li>\n<li>Children have access to inclusive, play and inquiry-based learning opportunities to improve their developmental health and well-being;<\/li>\n<li>Parents, caregivers and home child care providers have a better understanding of early learning and development, find it easy to access support, and are provided with an accessible, non-stigmatized place to seek help;
