Notice of Nominations

To All residents of the Territory Without Municipal Organization within the Algoma District Services Administration jurisdiction.

Pursuant to Section 3.1(2) of Ontario regulation 278/98, under the District Social Services Administration Boards Act, there will be an election of one (1) representative on the Algoma District Services Administration Board to represent the Territory Without Municipal Organization (TWOMO).

The District Services Administration Board for the District of Algoma is seeking Nominations for Representation of the Territory Without Municipal Organization (Area 7).

The ADSAB area of jurisdiction is the twenty incorporated municipalities and the unincorporated townships within the geographic District of Algoma. The ADSAB area excludes the City of Sault Ste. Marie, the Township of Prince and those unincorporated townships within the Sault North Planning Board area.

Nominee Qualifications

A person is eligible to be a DSSAB member representing the Territory Without Municipal Organization if they are:

  • a Canadian citizen;
  • at least 18 years of age;
  • a permanent resident of the territory without municipal organization; or
  • an owner or tenant of property in the territory without municipal organization; or
  • the spouse or partner of an owner or tenant of property in the territory without municipal organization

There are some regulated conditions under which you may be disqualified from being a candidate. You may refer to Nominee Qualifications Form (PDF) for more details.

Nomination Papers must be in by no later than August 21, 2026.

Notice of Elections

TWOMO Elections date: October 26, 2026

TO: All residents and property owners of the Algoma Unorganized Areas Electoral Area within the jurisdiction of the Algoma District Services Administration Board (ADSAB).

The Algoma District Services Administration Board (ADSAB) will hold an election to select one (1) member to represent the Territory Without Municipal Organization (TWOMO) on the ADSAB Board.

Area 7: Algoma Unorganized Areas Electoral Area consists of the territory without municipal organization within the ADSAB service area.

One (1) member shall be elected to represent Area 7.

Voting will take place using a Vote-By-Mail system.

Voting kits will be mailed out mid-September 2026.

Electors can register to vote until September 11, 2026 through the ADSAB’s elections email (twomo-elections@adsab.on.ca) by providing proof of identity and qualifying address.

Proxy Voting is NOT permitted.

Qualified Electors

  • a Canadian citizen;
  • at least 18 years old; and
  • residing in the ADSAB territory without municipal organization or an owner or tenant of land there, or the spouse of such owner or tenant.

Completed Ballets can be returned via Postage Paid Return envelope included with the Vote-By-Mail kit PRIOR to October 14, 2026
